Two
constructive speeches are allowed, one for each team in the order,
“For” and “Against”.
Following the constructive speeches the
moderator or judge directs a group discussion during which the
audience may ask question of the debaters or offer comments about the
cases offered up to this point.
The moderator will entertain
questions so as to alternate between “For” and “Against”
individuals.
After the discussion the “Against” speaker prepares
a single rebuttal speech followed by a single “For” rebuttal
speech.
Each constructive speech is allowed 3 minutes.
Discussion is
allotted 5 minutes, and 2 minutes for rebuttals and closing.
The Debate contest will be held in CATHOLIC CLUB, 12 Museum Road, Bangalore-25 on Saturday, 17th June 2006. Registrations will begin at 8.30AM. Starting time 9AM. Latecomers will not be entertained.
Last date for confirming the
participation is Monday, 12th June 2006.

All contestant will speak from the same platform or area designated by the contest chairman. A lectern/podium will be provided, however the use of lectern/podium is optional.
Decisions of the judges are final and protests will not be entertained.
Dress code: School uniform.
Only two participants from each school. 1. “FOR”. 2. “AGAINST”
Entry Fee: Rs 250/- for two entries per School.
Winners will receive trophies, cash prizes and certificates on Saturday, 24th June 2006, at a mega function that is organised at St. Josephs Boys High School, Museum Road, followed by Dinner.
Number of Prizes: Only Individual Prizes.
